INDIAN PATENT OFFICE MOVING FORWARD TO BECOME MORE TRANSPARENT AND USER FRIENDLY

INDIAN PATENT OFFICE MOVING FORWARD TO BECOME MORE TRANSPARENT AND USER FRIENDLY

We would like to share with all our valued Colleagues and Associates that the Indian Patent Office has launched a facility namely the ‘Stock and Flow’ to enhance the transparency in working of Patent Offices. This facility has already existed for Trademarks and now onwards it has been extended to the Patents. Through this facility the work done by the Patent office is being virtually open to the entire world. The stock and flow in the Patent Offices at different locations is shown on a real time basis on the official website. By this facility any one can check the status of Patent applications after publication. Further, to know more clearly about this new launched facility please refer to the Flow diagram depicted below.

Further, to make the procedure for payment safe and efficient the Intellectual Property Office India, has introduced a new payment gateway integrated to the pre existing e-filing system. This facility will enable payments using internet banking, credit cards or debit cards of more than 70 Banks including private and public sector banks. This comprehensive e-filing facility will cover payment of fees for all the respective Forms related to Patents and Trademarks. Through the integration of this new payment gateway with the preexisting e-filing system, the increase in number of the users turning towards e-filing is expected to be rise.
